Boudoir & Glamour: The term Boudoir derives from the French verb bouder, meaning “to pout”. A great deal of “boudoir” is now created in the photographer’s studio, where it has become very fashionable to create a set of sensual images for ladies of all ages, shapes, and sizes in the “boudoir style”. This often takes the shape of partly clothed images or images in lingerie, and has become more than just a passing fad for brides to surprise their future husbands. Although in the past there were many negative connotations associated with boudoir photography, in recent years the trend has begun to gain momentum, and the entire look of boudoir has begun to change.

Glamour photography is generally a composed image of a model in a still position. The subjects of glamour photography are often professional models (Although amateur subjects are sometimes used usually for private collections), and the photographs are normally intended for commercial use, including mass produced calendars, pinups, men’s magazines and websites between others. The emphasis of the composition is always on the model and the model’s sexuality and allure; with any clothing, fashion, products or environment contained in the image being of minor consideration. Photographers use a combination of cosmetics, lighting and airbrushing techniques to produce the most physically appealing image of the model possible.
