That looks so cool… so don’t mind me… this is just a test post to see if the stuff really works…

Once upon a time I was a VERY shy young boy. How shy? Well, anti-sociably shy (?!?!?).
I used to hate social gatherings, used to hate the attention and having to give attention to others (which can be a real problem when your mother LOVES to entertain). I used to hate parties (I think I blame part of that in my aunt… she dressed as a clown in my 1st birthday party… after that every year I had to look over my shoulder to see if I could find the scary monster with the white face and red nose… hehehe)
Then one day I decided that being shy was nothing more, nothing less than a waste of time!
Yes… I am just random like that: If something sticks to my head then nothing will ever take it out of there, unless a better argument comes up. Once I decided that sleeping was a waste of time… I still partly think that as true… but Vic convinced me that sleeping can ge good some times so… u gotta compromise somewhere…
Well… back to my point: I became a social beast. Wanna go party? Hell yeah! I was first one one in and last one out of the floor (can’t say I can dance… but I would do it anyways)… Luaus at the beach and serenading with a guitar and a group of friends till late night comes were my favorites. All of a sudden I was surrounded by friends and ready for whatever at any time…
Yup I’ve changed from water to wine.
Those were good days… and they went till… well I think till a bit after I got married really…
Sure we do go out and do stuff some times… but I can’t stop noticing how old I feel… Specially once I stop to realize the sort of things I am now doing and that more than half the people now doing the things I used to like are… well… half my age!
Does that ever bother you??
Am I back to water??? I surely hope NOT! I still haz got the skillz!!! A bit more refined but still got it!
And at least I know that some of my friends are a lot “older” than me! lol! We went out to Texas Embassy with Kathia, Jack and Marcio the other day and whilst they all went home right after the Embassy me and Vic were still willing to go dancing!!
Not that we did go dancing as I managed to block my credit card by punching the wrong pin number more than allowed. I was a bit tipsy okay?!?!?!
“Nada me hara mas feliz que dos margaritas!” <- know what I mean?
I had four so I am justified!

Me, Vic and Mr. Hollywood
December was quite a month full of events!!! Right after that it was our (Me and Vic’s) wedding anniversary… so we went to watch Twilight and then to Planet Hollywood!! And guess what? I kinda liked the twilight movie but still no comparison to the book!
Planet Hollywood was great! Loved the fajitas!
Vic liked the blue cow!
we were going to go dancing… we even got VIP treatment and all but we realized that if we did go in we would be in no condition to anything else for the next day (and we had to hit the road early morning)
Now that I think better… we should have gone into the club!!!! :/
Then there was X-mas at the In-Laws and tonite there is new year at ours. The a non stop of events produced by the CWI HUB next year…. so… Thinking it a bit better… maybe I am just as social as I was… just… grown up.
Time to get things ready then… last year we went to the London Eye for the reveillon… but after waiting for 3 hours to get into the train to come back home we decided to go a bit more… low key this year.
We’ll be receiving some friends and family over at the UVN Headquarters… And that’s going to be our new years eve activity…
How about yours???
HAVE A GREAT 2009 FULL OFF ALL THAT’S GOOD!!
May your dreams for the new year all come true!

I was almost going to bed when my Twitter gadget blipped to a new twit from @jillhanner with the word starbucks on it… even better with a @starbucks address in twitter (Sorry… hehehe I had to click follow… what can I say??? I like their coffee!!! A LOT!
) saying that she had just uploaded a new video to YouTube and that she hoped that @starbucks wouldn’t get mad at her… so I HAD to watch the video!
(If you are curious the address to it is http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=REnpHEp8iEE )
After watching the video I felt obliged to respond to it! hehehe
And here’s the video response!
Ah… if you are wondering about the unshaven face… it is the result of a bet I made with Vic… I’ll tell you a bit more about it on this week’s M Word (Stay tuned!!)

Heya!!
Ready for a new TB and Daddy adventure???
He was hungry and I was feeling creative… well at least inspired to cook… so we decided to do some “half cheated pao de queijo” (Brazilian Cheese Bread). Half cheated because even though the main stuff came in a package (we can;t find decent ingredients in Britain….) we decided to add our special touch to it…
Enjoy!
I know I know… after a while it gets dark… but still fun! hehehehehe
yum yum!!!
If u want the recipe let me know and I’ll email it to you… hehehehe

I am still struggling to understand what’s the big deal about Christmas time and I have decided to outline some of the reasons why I don’t see thee whole shebang about the famed season.
Oh come on… humor me… Read the whole thing, If you don’t agree, leave me a comment telling me why!
1 – “Christmas is season to be jolly… tra la la la la la la la la” Then why is it that December, and in specific Christmas time has the highest index of depression in the year? I know the great majority of the population is very Jolly throughout December because of the holidays (and the holidays parties where everyone seems to overindulge a bit too much and don’t deny it one way or another you know you do it!) … but helloooo… what about the other 11 months of they year… can’t they be jolly too???
2 – Shopping sprees, debt, stress, consumerism, “I want this and that and that other thing” from you kid in a daily basis, advertisement going into overdrive building up since well… October(ish), etc etc etc… got the drill??
3 – Jesus was not born in December (ouch… did you know that? if you didn’t there are studies about it all over the internet… google it… the consent is something between August and September, if you did know that… wth…) … how come we commemorate his birthday in December??? Is “the most important day in the Christian Calendar” commemorated in the wrong day? Again… ouch…
4 -Even if JC were born in December, for the first 300 (ish) years of Christian tradition his birth day was never celebrated (it is true… check the bible)… It was customary at the time to celebrate the death and not the birth of an important person. That is apart from some “pagan” cultures that actually used co commemorate the “birth” of their deities.
It was only in 435ac that the Christ Mass” was first instituted by pope Sixtus III in a celebration to coincide with the birth of the Romans primary god (the Sun) and Mithras a popular Persian sun god supposed to be born at the same day. The idea was to associate the one to the other to “facilitate” the assimilation and consolidation of the pagan masses to the Empire assuring their loyalty (smart guy… Religion=Power)
5 – None of the ornaments used in the whole Christmas Shebang has a Christian origin in it’s symbolism most of them being inherited by the Germanic Barbarians… Sure… all of them have Christian symbolic meaning now… just not on their origins…
So much for the “Main Christian Celebration” of the year uh…
I could say more… but I am kinda late… and nope… I am not against getting the whole family together and giving presents to each other, eat good food etc… The thing that bothers me is the reasons we do it… after all that can be done any day of the year can’t it?
Wouldn’t it be GREAT if we were jolly… and together more often?? Do we really NEED the excuse???
“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”… (From Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet)
Do I make any sense to you?? Do you and your family celebrate Christmas?? What does it mean to you?? What DO you celebrate at Christmas??
