Memories
Stories… we all got them… And When Pippa decided that she was curious about the story of how me and The Wife took the decision and got married within 3 weeks I decided it was going to be the best subject ever for this weeks Gallery: Memories. Are you ready to take a journey through time with me?
Where do I start… well… from the start sounds good uh… We met over the internet… no… not in dating suites… I was in the UK for a sabbatical. I was bored one day and went to google to find blogs to read… and found hers.
We exchanged comments… and emails and ICQ msgs for about a month and decided to meet up in person. She was going to go shopping in Portsmouth… I said “why not?” and we met at the station. First time I saw her I knew she was the one. she thought I was a freak… I guess she was right… I actually told her in our first date we would get married in the end…
It was complicated at first… well… she thought it was complicated… she didn’t wanna ruin what we had by jumping right in… I was of the opinion that she didn’t jump right in we’d never know. She jumped right in. We moved in together about a month after that.
Life was good… I’d often surprise her at work for lunch…
We’ve been to Brighton (because my best friend told me it was the most romantic beach in the UK).
I don’t think he meant that we should get in the cold freezing water… But I did it anyways…
We’ve been to France… because France is supposed to be a romantic destination (And I had to renew my visa)
Me, The Wife and my trusted camera were everywhere.. and we did some funky stuff together. She spoiled my plans of asking her to marry me during dinner when she found the Engagement ring inside a cup in the cupboard… It’s fine… she was happy… I was happy… Dinner was yummy anyways… and I got some special thanks afterwards which made things even better.
One day we were laying in bed and seh said: let’s get married… I said OK…
When she came back home from work that evening she had everything set (Appointments at the registry office etc) and we had 3 weeks to organize the wedding. The most expensive thing on it was her dress… We’ve been double-booked in our venue so ended up doing the reception at our local pub… and it was FAB!!!!
One day I’ll tell the story properly…
I wanted to let my camera do it her way first.
