The UrbanVox HQ Vlog is back in countdown to Christmas time so when Kodak invited us to get to Hyde Park for some fun at Winter Wonderland I jumped at the idea without thinking twice.
The whole idea was to Review their new Print From Video Kioskes where you can take in your video in a memory stick, search the video for the precise frame of video you ant and then print it as a picture straight from your video.
Gotta love that idea as sometimes it is quite difficult to
capture in pictures that perfect moment in time… specially if you’ve got kids that are always on the go.
To Put the whole thing to prove they gave us a KodakPlay Sport camera and let us lose at Winter Wonderland’t Ice Rink and a few of the rides. and after a day of fun where we’ve captured it all in video we met up again to eat something and put the idea to test.
The result was better than what I expected for once…
The Kiosk Machine was quite simple to use as the software they have developed for it is an upgrade to the one currently loaded on the ones where you would print photos from the memory stick, so if you are used to the old kiosks you will be able to use this one without any problem at all!
Yeah… you can debate that you can separate framed from the video at home and print it wherever you want using any editing software nowadays, but you can’t argue with the practicality that the service offers.
Example? Lets say you need a quick idea for a present for grandma? Simple… go out with your kid to the park… shoot a video… run to Boots, choose the best frames from the video, add them to the template, print and voila… instant present!
She’s Gonna kill me, but here’s an example of the collage I made of videos I shot of Hayley throughout the day (it is only fair that I can publish it… se did the same with the footage she made of me… only difference was that she made them look as if I fell (or was about to fall) on the ice a lot… tut tut tut… you can see the one she made here )
Of course I am saying all of it in the video (and a bit more) so stop being lazy and go watch it… And don’t forget to comment to let me know what you think of it!!!
.
Zya!!
PS: Test Drive of the Kodak Play Sport camera coming up soo… so stay tuned!
That’s pretty cool! I’ve often wanted to take stills from a video. Nice to know I can now!
