Well… It’s a bottle… :)

I’ve got this little assignment to do today: To test a product to it’s extreme… going where no blogger has been before (yeah right) whilst testing… A Bottle… The Sigg Classic 1 liter water bottle.

Yeah I know… A bit anti-climatic… but wait until you read the rest…

So… lets start with a few  stats provided by Purekit (where you can buy it now for £13.94)

This large water bottle is available in four traditional colours. The most popular size out of this range, 1 litre should be more than enough to suffice on a day-s expedition. Available in three colours, this classically designed product will look good around any camp, and as it has been produced by Sigg, quality is assured. Produced using single piece impact extruded aluminium with no seams makes Sigg water bottles one the most durable bottles on the market. Extremely lightweight, hygienically coated inside with a taste neutral and fruit acid resistant covering, this bottle is a great addition to any camping expedition.

  • Made from one piece extruded aluminium construction
  • Hygienically coated inside to help alleviate contamination of contents
  • The internal coating is resistant to fruit acids and isotonic drinks to help prevent decaying
  • An inside taste-neutral coating means that your drink tastes how it is supposed to
  • Almost unbreakable
  • Got the basics??? good now let’s go to the testdrive:

If you know me and read the UrbanVox HQ for a while already you will know that I kinda like to test things without reading the specs first… and I do it more often than not… so me being me did exactly that with the Sigg Bottle and decided to test it first thing by pouring 1 litre of hot green tea into it to take it up to the attic… and ended up burning my hand and dropping it from the top of the stairs…

Yeah… I found out it was not a termal bottle the worst way posible…

But not all is bad in this situation as I found out how durable the bottle is as there wasn’t even a scratch on it once I picked it up from the floor (this time using oven mittens)

Yeah… that should teach me to start reading stats before testing things… or not… :)

next thing I did was to try it with different drinks inside to see if the anti-taste coating really worked… well we know I tried it with green tea already, so next was orange juice, ribena, tropical fruits squash and coke (although I don’t recommend that one as it is prone to explode when you open the bottle… yeah… it happened to me). Every time the drink tasted like is should have… even after I filled up the bottle later with water… so yeah… that seems to work fine… :)

And it didn’t leek at all even tho I carried all over the place for 2 weeks… so other plus side!!!

I had no idea how I’d review a bottle… but to tell the truth… I’m glad I did… as Sigg has now replaced my bike water bottle…

    Score!!!! ;)
