Weeks 21 & 22: Learning

Posted By on April 12, 2011 in The Family Front | 10 comments

Dar Jelly Tot,

It has been 2 weeks since I last wrote you a letter. 2 VERY complicated weeks… but I guess you might have felt that through mummy… Too much happening, all at once… But as with everything that happens we learn as we live… That is THE ONE thing you need to make sure you understand… We never stop learning… And there is plenty of things you will need to learn the moment you come out.

The first thing you will learn, and probably the most traumatic , is that you need to breathe. It will hurt at first, but after the shock it is quite pleasant. Keep that in mind because it’s one of the things you will need to remember when you grow up… sometimes you need to stop… close your eyes… and take a deep breath.

This week we have also learned that you are not going to be daddy’s little princess but a little man just like your brothers. Mummy and I keep joking that we’re now only one short for a football team… Ah… and talking about football… you need to learn from now that the team you need to support if you don’t want to be in trouble with your mum is Liverpool FC… Believe me… you don’t wanna be on mummy’s bad side… I’ve had some of that this week, and it wasn’t fun… AT ALL!

TB and J now accept the fact that you are a boy after getting used to the idea of having a little sister. J has to be reminded of football games and TB could not be more relieved to be honest… He liked the idea of having a sister, but he says that boys are much more fun to play with…  Of course A doesn’t have an opinion yet, but you will be glad to know that one of the words he likes to use the most is baby… (of course he calls his bottle baby, but that’s beside the point huh?)  :)

You now have a middle name. now we just need to choose a first name… and that’s gonna be a mission. Mummy has a list with the ones she likes that I haven’t actually seen yet, but let’s see… And don’t worry… you won’t be Jelly Tot for the rest of your life. ;)

Yesterday me and mummy went out to talk (did you like your pizza? :) ). She wanted me to know what to expect on the event of your arrival. It was a long brief and… well… a bit scary to tell the truth, but she wanted me to know now so I could get used to it and don’t freak out when the time comes. Yeah… I know I’ve been there when 2 of your brothers arrived… but totally completely different case as we are expecting a few complications because of mummy’s unique physiology (and hoping with all our might that they don’t happen).

I still have loads of questions that will need answers… but all comes with time… and patience… As the song says: We live, We learn.

Love you my little boy, xxx

Daddy

PS1: Now that we know that you are a boy… the main thing you need to lear is: Don’t EVER try to understand girls… Just love’em…

PS2: Give mummy’s bladder an extra kick for me will ya? ;)

Very sweet post hon. I think it’s great that you’re writing to JT. Makes the bond so much stronger from the start, I think!

Thanks hun, There’s so much I’d like to tell him… There is so much I am discovering myself by having these “conversations”… and if he reads it one day it will just be so awesome! :)

Yip, I plan to put all the letters to Kyra in a bound book for her for her 18th or something – although by then she may have read it all already!
