You know when you are stuck with the kiddos in the house (or in traffic on the M25 like is my case most weekends) and you start running out of ideas over what to do to keep them entertained??? Yeah… that…

Thankfully THERE IS AN APP FOR THAT!!!!

Meet ABC Spy

Much like the original I Spy game ABC Spy encourages discussion and family participation as the child chooses a letter of the alphabet and then finds an object to photograph that begins with that letter and if your kiddo gets stuck he can simply ask for the help of Simon Spider, an in-app character who makes suggestions about the types of things to seek and photograph. When they’ve taken the photo they can then frame, edit and name it to create a catalogue of the images they have spied.

To test that I left the Big Monkey lose with my iPhone around the house to try and complete the whole I Spy Alphabet. After a few minutes he came back to me with all the photos taken framed and with another feature that I hadn’t seen before, a movie made on the app showing all the photos he has taking on his ABC hunt (the movie can be seen on the phone and even uploaded to youtube to share your monkey’s achievement with friends and family…)

To encourage you child to take all the challenges in the App, ABC Spy awards trophies for key achievements such as taking a picture for every letter in the alphabet and it even provides Statistics to allow parents to see how their child is progressing as well as checking on how much time they have clocked up using it.

The Big Monkey was the 1st to admit that maybe he is a little too old for the app, but he also said he had loads of fun running around the house on his treasure hunt (with Little Monkey right at his heels laughing and “helping” him take the photos) and even had a go at it on the car again… And I have to admit… I kinda have some fun trying it out too… Yeah… Yeah… I am a big kiddo… I know! :-)

ABC Spy is available on the Apple app store, And if you ask me… it’s a £1.49 very well spent!!!

A couple of months ago TB came back home after spending the day in a friends house talking about a website that had a penguin that had a rocket pack and would fly and have adventures with other penguins online.

He then went on to ask me to put the said website on so he could play on it… but he didn;t remember the name of it and I couldn’t find it anywhere.

What I did find was a Disney game for the Nintendo DS Called Club Penguin : Herbert’s Revenge which was all about a penguin Secret agent.

what I didn’t know was that the DS game only scratched the surface of what is the Club Penguin.

Do you like Horror/mistery games? Are you a sci fi addict? Did you ever play Dead Space? Then you are gonna love this anime as well…

In the game when an immense mining ship, the USG Ishimura, comes into contact with a mysterious alien artifact in a remote star system, its communications with Earth are mysteriously cut off. Engineer Isaac Clarke is sent to repair the Ishimuras communications array, but he arrives to find a living nightmare—the ship is a floating bloodbath, the crew unspeakably mutilated and infected by an ancient alien scourge. Clarkes repair mission becomes one of survival as he fights not just to save himself, but to return the artifact to the planet at any cost.

Well… It wasn’t really my sort of thing… But you can expect LOADS of blood and gore in the Prequel explaning the the happenings of the Game with the same name.

I haven’t actually played the game on the XBox but I did play the promo game in http://www.noknownsurvivors.com a couple of months ago and it actually looked GREAT and that was anough to guarantee my attention to the movie. I kinda wanted to know what happens without having to think myself about all the alternatives… hehehe

A good waste of 72 minutes…  :)

Like anime? Well watch it and let me know what you think. The movie is availiable in DVD and Blue Ray.

3 out of 5 stars… :)

zya!
