The truth is the right now I have no idea….

I had it all programed and worked out in my mind. I wanted to be pro-active and wanted to be active instead of getting closed in between 4 walls…

I wanted the cafe to be a Hub for all sorts of people to walk in, have some coffee, to learn and to contribute, to do something new and to transform minds…

I WANT it to work like that… I don’t want to be a “church” in al senses of the word…

I want to be open to people, and not closed down in millions of little rules that limit what we can do when we are together.

I woke up so very positive… so anthused… so motivated…

And with a 2 minute call all that simply went down hill… 

Don’t take me wrong, the vision is still the same… and if I have to continue without my cover (my mother per se) so be it. I am tired of hearing how things were on the past, and how we used to do things… 

We are NOT who we were!

The fact is that we disagree is so many things… she wants a church, I want a hub (something not so closed) she wants to be a denomination… I want to tear apart this word and throw it to the winds! The word denomination separates people from one another… that’s how I see it… She wants a place where you sit and listen and well whatever you do inside a church building… I want aplace of learning… a place of sharing… and more than anything, a base for action.

Am I alone?????

Am I the only one that wants to have JC’s teaching as a life style and not as a bunch of rules that limit what we see and what we CAN DO???

There is no time for stoping and crying now… there is no time to feel small and alone… there is a not a lot to be said and there is a lot to be done… there is no margin for depression… 

I need help but if I have to, then I’ll do it alone!!!!

YHWH… I need strenght now… more than ever…

Let it be a begining and not how I feel right now… an epic fail…

I need to get out there… The structure is there… is laid… time to do something new… Meta Noia…

I am tired, overloaded, stressed and depressed… but ready or not, here I come…

And What a day indeed…

We had the dry-run for the Metanoia Cafe at the Merton Abbey Mills in wimbledon today.

Everyone was stressed… I wanted to be open since the morning (even if just to sell coffees and whatever we had ready), my mother didn’t want to open at all till we were 100% ready, my sister was didided in the middle (yup… it is sort of a family business… hehehe), we didn’t have an internet connection (appart from my vodafone mobile internet card) and the food wasn’t perfect – at least not to my standards because everyone else that tried the stuff LOVED IT! (we gave away free samples!!) – and I had to force an oppening at 2pm (ish) which gave us only a 3 hour open-to-the-public-test-run…

Even so and against all expectations, people loved the coffee (I now know how to do a mocha! And a Latte, and even a Machiato using a big commercial machinne! yayyy), absolutelly LOVED the food, can’t wait for the workshops, and for us to be open with all the optionals Included (studio, Lan-House, etc)…

Weirdest of all, we ended the day with some proffit (liquid but proffit all the same)!!!

I have WAY too many ideas turning round and round in my head…

I am (A LOT LESS) stressed!

I am tired as shit!

I am surprised that with all the variables the day was a relative success…

I am in shut down mode…

BUT I AM HAPPY!

Time to reavaliate some things and reacess others and plan ahead and fix the lil problems that are still on the way…

Heya!

Maybe you  have noticed that I have been a bit absent lately… no posts, no videos, no pics… Loads of twits and a brand new gateway to all the bits @ urbanvox.net (a provisory one as the real new one will be all flashy when it is eventually done… ) yup… loads of new things going on but not a lot of my presence…

It comes with the new year I guess… all new!

All I can say right now is sorry for the absence!  It is all for a good cause!

So… the latest new thing for me are the new adventures of the DIY King (of fools): ME!

If you’ve been following my twits you might have noticed me rambling about builders giving me headaches and decoration and trips to IKEA, and spending money, and a new CWI HUB or even about a MetaNoia Cafe.

Well that’s what’s been keeping me busy and away(ish) from the internet . I never imagined that the details to open the venue of my dreams (just in a smaller scale) would be so  complicated. I can’t wait to have it up and running (but you will hear about it when and as it happens).

1 month to do a 2 week job! grrrr!!!

The builders have FINALLY moved out! That means that now I can FINALLY move in and get it ready to start receiving people! Ah… BTW… you are more than invited to come and visit us… we have wireless internet avaliable… and even a couple of computers mounted on the walls…

Which brings me to the DIY K(OF) situation: I am picky… and me being picky I didn’t like much what the builders did with the counter… for a start it was on the wrong place (after I told them exactly where I wanted it and HOW!)!!

So I decided to get back home, pick up my tools and MOVE IT MYSELF!

me me meeeeee!!!

Next step is painting bits that need painting… getting the Image ID elements in and get the furniture/ computers/ studio equipment/ coffee shop stuff and then yayyyy we’re well away!

Too bad I didn’t take any pictures of the “Before”… but the “After” looks A LOT better! hehehe

Even better!!! I didn’t hammer a toe, of shred myself on nails or caused (or participated) on any accident yet!

Me is happy!!! lol!

wow… 2:22am… time to go to bed uh!

Urbnanvox.Net has a new face!!!

Some people messaged me complaining that Internet Explorer didn’t like my template, that it kept hiding the BG image, that it was all wonky… At first I thought it was a connection problem… then I accessed the site from the Gym’s cafe… and hell it looked awful! But the last drop was really when Vic checked the site from my laptop here at home using IE7…

Then I thought… ok… time to do something about it then!

And here’s the result!! A work still in progress but in my opinion it looks cooler than the last…

I’ll twit when the stuff’s all sorted…

Meanwhile I want to say that the Pimp My Blog Awards was not in vain! I will still use the the designs to produce T-Shirts that will be sold on my CafePress Shop (the money raised with the sales will go to the Crossed Waves Initiative’s project Urban Angels that works with the intuit of training and deploying personnel to Urban centres with the mission to act as Outdoors Counselors and develop activities to get our kiddos out of the streets and giving them something useful to do (they’ll be involved on workshops in areas like internet & new media, film making, photography etc)! Did you know London has one of the highest suicide indexes in the world??? wow!!

I’d link the Urban Angels website here but the CWI’s website was attacked by hackers not long ago and I still haven’t had the time to get it up and running… but I’m working on it!

Anyways… let’s buy T-Shirts peeps!

House Hunting might be over!!! YAYYYYY!!!!

Yes, you-ve read it right! We found Dream House number 2! And it is just like it says in the bible: The glory of the second house will be greater than of the first!

Even better, It is just round the corner from TB’s school, and just round the bend from South Wimbledon Station! Nice garden and yard, LOADS of space (internal and external), well within our budget and most important of all… a HOUSE and not a flat!

All we depend now is to be approved on the Credit Check and all these boring things… and we’ll be moving on the 4th of July! Yayyyyyyyyy!!!!

CWI also has a new house: The Underground HUB is almost ready! and we’ll soon be moving our base group meetings in there. At least some of them! We’ve made some art in the walls… First Me and Cinthia did some interesting painting… then me and Vic doing some “collage” or some’t like that… She thinks it is not yet in a presentable state and there is a LOT to do before introducing the HUB to public… She might be right but I sooooooo can’t wait! You in London? Curious??? heheehe come and see.
